Hi! My name is Amy Bloom and I teach 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades at Hillel. I work collaboratively
with Mrs. Boltz, and together, we are excited to challenge students to become inquisitive learners and
problem-solvers. Using grade-level learning standards as a guide, students in my class are guided
through the process of gathering information and answering questions in order to acquire new
knowledge. We utilize reading materials through a variety of sources such as books, articles, and
websites. We search for other means of obtaining information such as videos, powerpoint
presentations, and interactive materials, and we ask questions of experts to facilitate deeper
comprehension. The goal is for each student to develop active inquiry skills, opening up a world of
learning.

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Mike, and our 3 kids; Adam (22), Sarah (19), and Ellie (15). We love to travel, especially to the mountains, the beach, and big cities. My favorite travel destination is Israel and I hope to become fluent in Hebrew in the future.
I look forward to a school year full of wonder, exploration, and growth with each of your student
problem-solvers!
